Eric and Jon founded Effective Giving Quest in 2021. With over 70 collective years of experience in gaming and 30 years of experience working in charities, they identified a way to merge these interests in the name of improving the world as effectively as possible.
Having seen hundreds of gamers admirably host fundraisers, we’ve noticed an often missed opportunity to apply strategic thinking skills—so often used in gaming—to their selection of charitable causes. Figuring out where to give is an understandable problem, as it’s difficult to pick from the vast sea of thousands of charities. EGQ was born to solve this problem and to help gamers maximize their impact. By bringing information together about effective giving in a central hub, we make it easy for people in the gaming industry to do the most possible good with their time and donations.
