Other Ways to Donate

Thank you for your interest in effective giving! If you work in the gaming industry, please let us know prior to donating, so that we can discuss maximizing the potential of your donations through the Effective Giving Quest Alliance. If we determine that your company or channel is an appropriate fit, we will contact you with details about the process for making the commitment.

For everyone else: Most people who donate should use the donate button in the top right of this page. However, for gifts of $1,000 or more, we recommend sending your gift via one of the methods below to avoid credit card fees.

We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and all donations made via the below options are tax-deductible for donors located in the United States.

  • You may mail a check payable to Effective Giving Quest at this postal address:

    Please include a note indicating to which of our recommended funds (Animal Welfare, Global Health, or the Long-Term Future) you’d like us to distribute your gift. You may also choose to allocate a portion of your donation to help pay for Effective Giving Quest’s operating expenses.

  • Every.org is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. When you make a donation to EGQ via Every.org, they immediately issue a U.S. tax receipt for your donation, and then they make a disbursement to EGQ. If you donate with your bank account, 100% of processing fees are covered. This platform supports recurring and one-time donations. Every.org also issues a tax receipt at the end of the year for all of your charitable gifts. Learn more about this process on their FAQ page.

    Through Every.org you can make an online gift to Effective Giving Quest. If you wish to support one or more of our recommended funds, please email philanthropy@effectivegivingquest.org after you donate via Every.org so that we can allocate your gift appropriately.

  • When you donate through the PayPal Giving Fund, all fees are covered by PayPal, and 100% of your donation will goes toward your designated charity. You can make a donation using your bank account or credit card. Your receipt will be issued by the PayPal Giving Fund. It typically takes 15–45 days for PayPal to distribute your donation. Unfortunately, the PayPal Giving Fund does not currently support monthly donations nor donations from all countries.

    Through the PayPal Giving Fund you can make a fee-free online gift to Effective Giving Quest. If you wish to support one or more of our recommended funds, please email philanthropy@effectivegivingquest.org after you donate to let us know how you would like your donation allocated.

  • Download the free Zelle mobile banking app or use Zelle through your bank’s website or mobile app. Make a fee-free donation to EGQ by sending money to philanthropy@effectivegivingquest.org. Please include any desired restriction (e.g., which fund) in the memo line or email us directly.

  • By sending your donation to Effective Giving Quest directly from your U.S. bank account to EGQ’s bank account via ACH transfer, you can pay a lower transaction fee of 1% (maximum fee of 10 USD per transaction).

    One-Time ACH donation:
    To make a one-time donation (minimum: 5 USD), please email philanthropy@effectivegivingquest.org with the amount you would like to donate and your desired donation allocation. You will then receive an invoice that will securely collect your bank account information online.

    Monthly ACH donation:
    To make a monthly donation (minimum: 5 USD), please fill out this authorization form and email it to philanthropy@effectivegivingquest.org or mail it to us at:
